Additionally, he has been the Finance Chair for the Baltimore County Sitting Judges Committee for 12 years. An avid outdoorsman, Jack enjoys fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, sitting in a duck blind, or catching rainbow trout in Taupo, New Zealand. His favorite pastime is traveling with his family and exploring new countries.

John Grason Turnbull III, affectionately known as Jack, is a seventh-generation Baltimore attorney with a rich family history of public service, including six generations of judges. Growing up on a farm in Sparks, Maryland, he attended St. Paul’s School for Boys and later, Gettysburg College, where his passion for history flourished. Even today, Jack can often be found reading historical fiction and spy novels.

Jack earned his Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1998. He has been practicing law since 1999, serving clients throughout the state of Maryland and focusing on personal injury, medical malpractice, criminal law, and workers’ compensation.

With 25 years of legal experience, Jack has been recognized as a Super Lawyer for almost 20 years and has been named one of the Top 100 Maryland Lawyers. He is known for his exceptional mitigation skills in Maryland and recently secured one of the largest personal injury verdicts in recent history that did not involve a fatality.
